About Kristin
As Assistant Director of Nursing, Kristin’s job duties include supervising the nursing staff department and beginning a liaison for the medical department. She provides leadership in a way that is encouraging while maintaining high standards of quality care.
Kristin has spent most of her nursing career working in the hospital setting. She provided direct patient care, working in multiple units including palliative care, pulmonary unit, general surgery, trauma stepdown, wound care, pre-op surgery, post-op surgery, medical surgical units, psychiatric, stroke unit, bariatric surgery, orthopedics, cardiac stepdown, dialysis, neurology unit, COVID unit and Oncology unit. Most nursing tasks included wound care, administered medications and treatments, and provided patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. As a charge nurse, she supervised assigned team members, directing and mentoring the team in proper care, policies, and procedures. She loves to run into nurses that she has trained and see them succeeding in their nurse career. Kristin is a graduate from Georgia Highlands College with a degree in Nursing Science. She is a proud member of the Georgia Nurses Association.
During her time away from the facility, she likes to hike. Though she is not athletic, she is always taking breaks on hikes to look at plants and will be the last to arrive with a bouquet in hand. Kristin loves to meander through the forest enjoying the beauty of nature. Being at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains is an absolute blessing. The woods bring such peace and tranquility to life. It allows you to disconnect from the modern world and to stay present in nature. This is the time that your mind can slow down and focus on the beauty that God has graced us with. One of her favorite quotes by Lao Tzu is “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Recovering from addiction is a very challenging process. The most important thing is taking that first step. Here at Southeast Detox, Kristin and the nursing team will walk that path to sobriety with you. There will definitely be a bouquet of blessings in the end.
